Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta Renew Partnership

MPLMMichelin Raceway Road Atlanta and the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer (AHF) will continue their long-standing partnership into 2023 and beyond, as AHF will continue to serve as one of the proud charities of the raceway.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s mission is to erase the effects of pediatric cancer and optimize each child’s quality of life through essential specialized intervention beginning at the time of diagnosis and continuing throughout survivorship. The Foundation was established in 2006 by Dr. Jim Osborn and Amy Jo Osborn, who experienced the loss of their infant son due to a rare form of pediatric cancer that year.

The Foundation has maintained a robust partnership with Michelin Raceway for many years, through various activations around major spectator events that Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta hosts. The Austin Hatcher Foundation is also a beneficiary of various charitable endeavors with which the racetrack is involved.

“Our relationship with Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta began back in 2002, before the foundation was even formed, when we began raising money for children with cancer and hosting Diversionary Therapy visits there,” said Dr. Jim Osborn, co-founder of the Austin Hatcher Foundation. “Fast forward to 2006 and Hatch, our son, was there with us as a 6-week-year old baby and our race team was unveiling a new bio-diesel race car. It was after that weekend that Hatch was diagnosed and passed away. Subsequently, our relationship with IMSA and Michelin Raceway became more formalized. We are so appreciative of what IMSA, the racetrack and their fans, teams and partners have done for our organization and the families we serve.”

“Our vision is for every child diagnosed with cancer, and their family, to reach their full potential,” said Amy Jo Osborn, co-founder and CEO of the Austin Hatcher Foundation. “The experience of childhood cancer goes beyond diagnosis and affects every individual family member differently, but AHF is here to make a difference in the battle against this dreaded disease.”

Each year, the AHF community comes together at the annual Motul Petit Le Mans weekend at Michelin Raceway for a fun-filled day of hospitality and some of the most spectacular sportscar racing in the world.

“Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta has been proud to support the Austin Hatcher Foundation for many years and is committed to providing memorable experiences for families the Foundation serves,” said Rick Humphrey, president and general manager of Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. “The Austin Hatcher Foundation continues to do incredible work in bringing joy and assistance to those that are affected by pediatric cancer. We’re honored to play a small part in that.”
